This place is invite-only, and everybody who is here has five invitations to give out. They are at the top of the Friends page.
The rule, in three lines
- Five, for the lifetime of your account. Not five at a time.
- Pressing Get a link spends one — whether your friend signs up, ignores it, or the day runs out. Neither using one nor letting one expire gives it back.
- Each link works for 24 hours from the moment you take it. Copying the same link again does not restart the clock.
So it is worth handing one to somebody you have already spoken to, rather than taking one to have it ready.
Where yours went
The panel lists every invitation you have ever taken, not just the live ones: a countdown on the ones still good, who joined and when on the ones that were used, and a note on the ones that ran out unused. If you have none left you are owed an account of where the five went, and that is it.
Run out and still need one? Ask. The allowance is a number on your account and can be raised.
